PSY1015 Positive Perspectives Credits: 2
As best practices in health, education and community services increasingly adopt strength-based approaches to client care, self-care and social development, there is a growing need for professional qualifications in applying positive perspectives. This multidisciplinary course focuses on methods and strategies that help individuals identify strengths, enhance resilience, uncover sources of enjoyment and pleasure, and increase life satisfaction through evidence-based practices. The emphasis is on wellness rather than pathology.
Course materials will be drawn primarily from the field of Positive Psychology but will also include explorations of relational practice, strength-based approaches in helping, leadership/coaching skills and solution-focused strategies drawn from a range of professional disciplines.
